Monthly Fundraising Highlight

In March 2026, 129 rounds across 123 crypto companies secured a combined $4.28B in funding. Of this total, 10 companies across 11 rounds raised approximately $1.52B through PIPEs, debt, IPOs, or post-IPO equity. Additionally, 6 companies raised funds across 7 rounds specifically for Digital Asset Treasury strategies.

Most Active Investors:  March 2026

As shown in the chart below, the top five investors participated in 16 distinct funding rounds and made a total of 21 investments this month. Their investments spanned multiple sectors, including Artificial Intelligence, Betting & Prediction Markets, Blockchain Intelligence, DeFi, Decentralized Social, Infrastructure Providers, Layer 2, Payments, Protocol Development, Real-World Assets (RWAs).

Distribution of Fundraises by Sector:  March 2026

In March, Payments  companies led in a number of deals with $314.46 million raised across 19 rounds.

Digital Asset Treasury Funding Rounds: March 2026

In March, fundraising activity among Digital Asset Treasury companies included 6 companies raising capital across 7 rounds.

Distribution of Fundraises by Stage: March 2026

In March, Seed saw the highest deal activity with 27 companies raising a combined $171.08M across 27 rounds. Unspecified was the largest stage by capital raised, with 17 companies raising a combined $1.31B across 17 rounds.

M&A Activity: March 2026

In March 2026, the crypto space saw 22 M&A transactions, highlighted by Mastercard’s definitive agreement to acquire BVNK, a stablecoin infrastructure provider, for up to $1.8 billion including $300 million in contingent consideration.

Notably, LayerZero unlocked $26.33 million on March 20, 2026 and will unlock an additional $26.33 million on April 20, 2026. Meanwhile, SUI unlocked a combined total of $34.08 million on March 3 and April 3, 2026.
