On July 20-22, 2026, The Tie hosted Out East Summit, a private, invitation-only gathering of 300 of the most influential executives in institutional digital assets.

Held at a private vineyard on Long Island's North Fork, the three-day experience was designed to cultivate meaningful relationships and deepen collaboration across the crypto industry's leadership.

The Summit brought together founders and partners from leading traditional and crypto-native funds, heads of digital assets at major banks and asset managers, C-suite executives from leading exchanges and trading venues, regulators, and protocol founders shaping the future of finance.

Featuring fireside chats, expert panels, curated networking experiences, wine tastings, a golf outing, and countless conversations outside the meeting rooms, Out East Summit once again provided an environment where meaningful relationships were built alongside thoughtful discussions about the future of the industry.

Across more than 20 panels and fireside chats, several themes consistently emerged, offering a snapshot of the conversations shaping institutional crypto today.

Key Themes

1. AI Is Becoming Crypto's Next Major Growth Driver

Artificial intelligence was one of the defining topics of this year's Summit. Conversations explored everything from AI-powered applications to autonomous AI agents capable of transacting on-chain. Rather than viewing AI and crypto as competing technologies, many participants framed blockchain as the financial infrastructure that allows AI systems to coordinate, own assets, and participate in digital economies. The discussion has shifted beyond whether AI will influence crypto to how quickly the two industries will become increasingly interconnected.

2. Tokenization Has Moved Beyond Experimentation

Tokenization remained a central theme throughout the Summit, but the conversation has evolved. Rather than debating whether tokenization works, institutional leaders focused on implementation, scalability, and identifying where blockchain delivers meaningful advantages over existing infrastructure. Discussions around public blockchain rails, tokenized assets, and digital settlement reflected an industry increasingly focused on execution rather than experimentation.

3. Stablecoins Continue to Lead Institutional Adoption

Few topics generated as much discussion as stablecoins. As banks, fintechs, asset managers, and crypto-native firms continue launching new products, attention has shifted toward distribution, liquidity, regulation, and long-term business models. Stablecoins are increasingly viewed as one of blockchain's most practical institutional applications, providing infrastructure for payments, settlement, and global capital movement.

4. Institutions Are Reshaping Crypto's Future

Several sessions examined how institutional participation is changing the industry itself. From discussions around market structure and crypto-native investing to debates over whether products should prioritize enterprise requirements or retail users, participants explored how increased institutional adoption is influencing product design, governance, and market dynamics. Rather than asking whether institutions are coming, the conversation focused on what the industry becomes once they arrive.

5. Regulatory Clarity Is Shifting the Conversation Forward

Regulation remained an important theme throughout the Summit, but the tone was noticeably different than in years past. Conversations increasingly focused on operating within emerging frameworks rather than waiting for them. Discussions with policymakers, legal experts, and industry leaders highlighted a growing emphasis on market structure, responsible innovation, and the opportunities that accompany greater regulatory certainty.

6. The Industry Is Looking Beyond the Current Cycle

The Summit concluded with discussions focused squarely on the future. Where will the next wave of users come from? Which business models will create lasting value? How will AI, public blockchains, tokenization, and institutional infrastructure reshape markets over the next decade? Rather than concentrating solely on current market conditions, many conversations centered on building durable businesses capable of supporting the next phase of digital asset adoption.

Out East Summit has always been designed to bring together the people building the future of institutional digital assets, and this year's conversations demonstrated just how quickly that future continues to evolve.
